Linda James is a North Carolina artist residing in a small community north of Raleigh. Surrounded by beautiful woodlands and a 30,000 acre preserve of natural habitat around Falls Lake and the Neuse River, she has an endless supply of beautiful scenery for inspiration. Linda predominantly paints American and Italian landscapes and architecture, figurative works and still life in an impressionistic style and considers her abstract series an adventure as she explores color and design without specific subject matter. Her work is greatly influenced by frequent travels to Italy and of course by the local scenery in North Carolina from the coastal areas to the mountains. She paints mostly in oil with a limited palette but also uses acrylic paint, charcoal and mixed media.
"My creative journey is a never ending pursuit to reach my highest artistic level. I want to render my work in a manner that is not only pleasing but also becomes spiritual and engages the emotions of the viewer through the use of dramatic light and color. How blessed I am to be an artist and to have found my passage to fulfillment. It is an escape into a world of enlightenment and enrichment. This journey has been influenced by many wonderful artists along the way such as Dan Beck, Dawn Whitelaw, Peggy Kroll Roberts, Sue Lyon, Scott Burdick, Lori Putnam, and others. My work is in corporate and private collections in North Carolina, South Carolina, California, Texas and in Italy."
