About The Artist
Tammy Sorrell - paints under her first initial and middle name as T Angelique. Continually learning new techniques is very important to her and she seeks classes and on going instruction from many professional artist on the East Coast. Her studies have been in depth and perspective, still life and portraiture. She works in both acrylics and oil but will sometimes experiment with painting something in watercolor. Tammy uses art in the community in order to reach out to drug addicted youth with destructive habits such as self-mutilation, alcoholism, and drug use. She has had success in rehabilitating and restoring them to a life that is productive and effective contributing members of society. Her nonprofit, Hosanna Covenant Ministries -"Art for Transforming" completed a 20' x 60' community mural the summer of 2012 to offer youth an opportunity to express themselves and create something beautiful.
About the Artist
I have loved anything to do with art for as long as I can remember. Right now I am mostly doing small acrylic or pastel paintings but in the past I have done watercolor illustrations for children's books and a cookbook cover. I am a packrat at heart and if the mood strikes I will try to use up some of my vast collection of vintage papers... much to my husband's relief... and do some collages. You will also be seeing some collages and block puzzles which I either paint or decoupage with vintage or decorative papers. I am a stay at home mom to two small children and I love it but doing artwork is an outlet that I definitely need and can't do without! My artwork is usually whimsical, uplifting or nostalgic. I hope you find something that makes you laugh or smile.
